A bustling, cosmopolitan metropolis at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, in 2,000 years of existence different civilisations have left their mark on the city. Istanbul is a 24-hour city where bars, clubs and restaurants are open all hours and shops, bakeries and even barber shops are open as late as 3am!<br \/>\nBegin in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ranitravel.com\/en\/blue-mosque-the-jewel-of-istanbul-sultanahmet-camii\/\"><strong>Sultanahmet<\/strong> <\/a>where you will find most of Istanbul\u2019s major attractions, including the Hagia Sophia, Topkap\u0131 Palace, the Blue Mosque and the <strong>Basilica<\/strong> <strong>Cistern<\/strong>.<br \/>\nNext, make your way to the world famous Grand Bazaar. It\u2019s one of the oldest and biggest covered markets in the world. Or, for an alternate experience, head downhill to M\u0131s\u0131r \u00c7ar\u015f\u0131s\u0131 for spices, jewellery and sweets.<\/p>\n<h3>Day 1<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Roman Hippodrome<\/li>\n<li>Blue Mosque<\/li>\n<li>German Fountain<\/li>\n<li>Basilica Cistern<\/li>\n<li>Hagia Sophia<\/li>\n<li>Topkapi Palace<\/li>\n<li>Sultan Tomb<\/li>\n<li>Grand Bazaar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Day 2: A Day on the Bosphorus, and an Ottoman Band<\/h2>\n<p>Set out early in the morning for a daylong cruise up the <strong>Bosphorus<\/strong>, allowing yourself at least an hour to explore the <strong>Egyptian<\/strong> <strong>Spice<\/strong> <strong>Bazaar<\/strong> and neighboring Yeni Camii before you board at the nearby ferry docks. If you&#8217;re concerned about time, take a half-day guided sightseeing tour, which includes a stop at the <strong>Egyptian<\/strong> <strong>Bazaar<\/strong>, an informed description of the sights along the Asian and European shores, and a visit to <strong>Rumeli<\/strong> <strong>Castle<\/strong>, which wraps up around lunchtime.<\/p>\n<p>You want take the guided tour, spend the remainder of the afternoon walking the length of Istanbul&#8217;s main artery, on Istiklal Caddesi and poking in and around the back streets of <strong>Beyoglu<\/strong>. If possible, arrange this afternoon exploration around the 3pm performance of the mighty Mehter Band in the Military Museum up in Harbiye (walking distance from Taksim Square or a short taxi ride). Then, if you allow yourself one unexpected itinerary stop in Istanbul, make it this: From the Military Museum, take a taxi up to the modern and trendy seaside village of Ortak\u00f6y (just above the \u00c7iragan Palace), where you&#8217;ll find restaurants, cafes, and sidewalk vendors under the Bosphorus bridge.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ranitravel.com\/en\/tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5131 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ranitravel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-05-09-at-22.58.27-370x260.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"370\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Day 3: Cappadocia<\/h2>\n<p>If you wish, rise before dawn for a hot-air balloon flight over <strong>Cappadocia<\/strong>. Otherwise, explore the \u201c<strong>moonscape<\/strong>\u201d of <strong>Cappadocia<\/strong> starting with the painted churches in the <strong>G\u00f6reme Open-Air Museum<\/strong>. OR, you can live it up at the next door Nikki Beach Club with live music and fun party scene.<\/p>\n<p>Ephesus can also be visited as a day trip from <strong>Bodrum<\/strong>\u00a0This <strong>UNESCO<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>World Heritage<\/strong> site and one of the most important ancient ruins in Turkey was the 4th largest city in the Roman Empire. A veritable who\u2019s who of famous figures spent time in Ephesus including Paul the Apostle, Alexander the Great, <strong>Anthony<\/strong> and <strong>Cleopatra.<\/strong> Pretty mind blowing, right!<br \/>\nThe thing that really struck me here with the grand size of everything. The theater that held 25,000 spectators, the Arcadian Way, a 500 meter marble road lined with 50 streetlights and shops that connected the theater to the sea and the ancient Library of Celsus that housed 12,000-15,000 scrolls shown above.<\/p>\n<h2>Day 7: Private tour for Pamukkale<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Pamukkale<\/strong> natural calcium pools created by thermal water.
